Dr. Annie Pinto, MD
Anaesthesiologist and Pain Medicine Specialist
Dr. Pinto is an American Board Certified Anaesthesiologist and Pain Medicine Specialist. She has a long history of over 21 years, in practicing Anaesthesiology and Pain Medicine. She has a Medical Doctor’s degree from la Universidad Central de Venezuela. She completed her residency and pediatric anesthesia fellowship in New York City, Columbia University and remained as an assisting professor at the New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.
Soon after, her pain medicine training continued at Cornell Weill Hospital and The Hospital for Special Surgery. She also completed a fellowship at the Pain Medicine Department of Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard School of Medicine. In the recent years, she has focused her training in the new field of regenerative medicine.
Dr. Pinto is staff member at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) as both an anesthesiologist as well as a pain medicine specialist.

Claire Peverelli is an accredited trauma-informed Integrative Psychotherapist with many years experience. She qualified as a psychotherapist in the United Kingdom with both an HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) and UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) accreditation and upkeeps a high standard of Continued Professional Development. She recently completed a certificate program in Somatic EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based trauma processing modality.
Claire has several years experience working in the UK’s National Health System, both in mental health hospitals and at a Women’s center treating survivors of childhood sexual abuse. She has also worked in a mental health charity and has had her own successful private practice for several years. Claire utilizes an integrated systems approach, looking beyond the individual to consider the broader context in which the client exists including relationships, family dynamics and social systems to gain a comprehensive understanding of the factors contributing to their challenges and strengths. Claire moved to Bermuda in 2020 and recently joined the Bermuda Pain Relief Center thanks to her therapeutic approach that recognises the body and mind connection.

Janice Amaral
Mental Health Counsellor
Janice is a mental health counsellor with over 10 years’ experience working with adults and children and their families in the Philadelphia area of the US. She recently moved back to Bermuda and is excited to join the team at the Bermuda Pain Relief Center as a counsellor who is trained in an approach to pain management that recognizes the connection between the body and mind.
Dr. Michael Catapano MD

Dr. Michael Catapano is an Interventional Physiatrist at the University of Toronto operating out of both Sunnybrook Health Science Center and Mount Sinai Hospital.
He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Toronto. He is also appointed to the Holland Bone and Joint Program at the Sunnybrook Research Institute.
Dr. Catapano completed his medical degree at McMaster University and subsequently went to Toronto to complete a 5-year Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation including a 1-year fellowship in Interventional Pain and designated as a Pain Physician by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
He completed additional training in Electromyography and has his Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists License to complete Nerve Conduction Studies and Electromyography (NCS/EMG). Most recently, he travelled to Boston to complete a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Harvard University - Massachusetts General Hospital and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital focusing on the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and the use of ultrasound and fluoroscopy for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. He has a clinical expertise on the non-operative treatment of sports, spine, musculoskeletal injuries and the use of ultrasound, fluoroscopy and EMG
